IPv6 is going places !
It is not an illusion, it ís a need and during the last 24 months, IPv6 has
had much greater acceptance from specific segments of the industry such as
embedded systems, personal devices as well as the Defence.
Extensibility, mobility, quality of service, larger address space,
auto-configuration, end-to-end connectivity, ìalways-onî devices, security,
better addressing, routing and multi-homing, anycast and multicast,
renumbering; are some of the fundamental aspects of IPv6, but more are
getting valuable.
And all this and more is discussed and showcased at the First South Asian IPv6
Summit in Bangalore.

Event Program
The 7 day event is a premier event that brings together, for the
first time, various networking forums in the Asia Pacific. The
South Asian Network Operators Group (
SANOG) and the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) along with the IPv6 Forum India
(as the host) are providing a rich set of networking topics meant for
networking professionals. All of these topics have an IPv6 component
that is now inevitable.
The event comprises of Four days of workshops, two days of tutorials and
two days of invited speakers, national and international. An adjoining expo
during the conference will enable vendors to showcase their IPv6 ëreadyí
products and solutions. This would bring the community closer to actual
deployment.
In addition to the conference and expo, there will be parallel
meetings of the APv6 Task Force, the One World working group, a technology
brief and business for CxOs and a meeting of policy makers from the government.
As part of the summit showcase, we intend to have a multi-vendor, multi-OS,
heterogenous network running native IPv4 and IPv6.
Key Focus Areas
- Operations and Deployment Strategies
- Network Monitoring & Management for Native IPv6 Networks
- Enterprise Wide IPv6
- Security and Privacy in IPv6
- Mobility
